At the core of the Church are our local parishes, welcoming all who seek an encounter with the living Christ. Through liturgy and worship, education, community and stewardship, our parishes bring Christ's love to the lives of hundreds of thousands in the archdiocese every day. Through evangelization and service initiatives, our parishes share Christ's love with all those in need in the larger community.
Every year, at the Easter Vigil, more than 1,000 adults in the archdiocese are received into the Church. Men and women searching for a spiritual home experience in the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults, a process of conversion as they study the Gospel, profess their faith in Jesus and his Church and receive the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and the Eucharist.
"Come and See!" Jesus' invitation echoes in the mission of the Church as it proclaims the Good News and invites all to find in Jesus the Way, the Truth and the Life. Evangelization is the mission of the Church and the responsibility of every baptized person to live their faith fully and share their faith freely.
Welcome to Young Adult Ministry! Through regional ministry and parish sponsored programs, young adults in their 20s and 30s are invited to participate in the full life of the Church. Our ministry seeks to connect young adults with Jesus Christ, the Church, the mission of the Church in the world and each other.
