Transfiguration

In the month of August we celebrate the Feast of the Transfiguration which gives us a preview of Christ's resurrection. For the Apostles, Peter, James and John who witnessed Jesus' "face shine as the sun and his clothing glisten," (Luke 9:28-36) the transfiguration of Jesus is a sign of confirmation of his sonship that God announced at Jesus' Baptism. St. Thomas Aquinas writes that Jesus' transfiguration is also a promise to us that our bodies will be configured to his glory.
